October 2020: LSI has successfully flown a 1500 sq. km. LiDAR project in the Thompson Manitoba area. The project was completed using a Piper PA31 Navajo aircraft that had been approved through the end client’s extensive aviation safety audit. All end client and Government of Manitoba COVID protocols were followed without any issues. The project was flown just before the full arrival of winter much to the relief of all parties.

LSI Completes Alberta Wind Farm LiDAR Survey
October 2020: LSI has completed a southern Alberta wind farm LiDAR survey the day before a major snowstorm hit the area. The project area was located SE of Vulcan Alberta.
LSI Awarded Mining Project Near Timmins Ontario
September 2020: LSI has been awarded a large mining project south of Timmins Ontario. Both LiDAR and digital imagey will be collected using LSI’s MATRIX LiDAR system installed in a Cessna 182 aircraft. The project is expected to be collected on September 24th.
LSI Completes SaskPower Project
September 2020: LSI has completed an airborne LiDAR project for SaskPower which included a 245 km new transmission line route survey, a new substation survey and an existing transmission line survey. The entire project was completed in one day.
LSI Awarded Saskatchewan Potash Mine Contract
September 2020: LSI has been successful in getting awarded a large potash mine project located approximately 30 km NE of Moose Jaw Saskatchewan. The LiDAR project is scheduled to be flown at the end of September. LSI will use a Cessna 182 aircraft using the LSI MATRIX LiDAR system. Both LiDAR and high resolution imagery will be collected.
LSI awarded Alberta coal mine LiDAR project
September 2020: LSI has been awarded a large airborne LiDAR project for a coal mining operation located in the Grande Cache area of Alberta. LiDAR operations are scheduled to commence during the middle of September to take advantage of favourable weather.
SaskPower Extends LiDAR Master Services Agreement with LSI
September 2020: SaskPower has informed LSI that the existing MSA will be extended for another one year term. LSI has successfully completed a number of transmission line projects for SaskPower under the current MSA and welcomes the extension for another one year term.
LSI Completes BC Mining Project
July 2020: LSI has successfully completed a challenging airborne LiDAR survey for a BC Mining company approximately 100 km NW of Cache Creek BC. LSI staged flight operations out of the Lillooet Airport which was the closest airport to the project area. The project was completed on time and all final deliverables meet the client’s expectations.
New Transmission Line As-Built survey in USA
May 2020: LSI in conjunction with it’s wholly owned USA subsidiary, LiDAR Services, LLC., has completed a LiDAR data collection program on over 570 kms of existing transmission lines for a major utility in the north central USA. The LSI/LiDAR Services team followed strict COVID protocols and procedures to complete the project safely. LiDAR, downward imagery, forward video and forward tower photos were collected during the program.
